Life in Paraguay’s Limpio slums is hard, and particularly difficult for families at the very bottom of these marginalised communities.
The Puma Energy Foundation partners with Techo, a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to improve the living conditions of those in extreme poverty by providing transitional housing.
Working across three slums in Limpio, Techo has identified 38 families and is improving their living conditions by building transitional homes. In the past year, the Foundation has helped build and deliver 60 new homes for the beneficiary families, aided by volunteer employees from the Puma Energy office in Paraguay.
Where they work
In 2013, three community organising committees were set up and three brand-new community centres were finished; this last centre is particularly important, as giving local people the voice and a space to have their say is key to successful development and empowerment in these neglected areas.Visit Website
